Well, now I can't say that nothing exciting has ever happened to me.

So, I got mugged about an hour and a half or so ago. Certainly an experience. No worries, I'm fine, save some mildly nasty scratches on my elbow. And the fact that I'm missing everything in my purse. Like, say, my phone, my debit card, my learner's permit, my PCC ID, etc. I'm not usually much of a curser, but I think I can be excused for the following lapse:

Fuckers.

ETA: I feel I should note that, for the record, I did fight back, even though there were two guys considerably bigger than I and one of them had what may or may not have been a gun. (I refuse to completely believe it was for what are probably sanity reasons.)

Whoa. Fuckers indeed.

You've canceled your debit card and called the phone company, yeah?

Dang. I don't know whether to be impressed that you fought back or yell at you for it. I'm glad you're all right, though.

I'm working on the canceling thing. Totally didn't think about the phone, though. Although it's a prepaid minutes Tracfone, so I'm not really sure I can do anything about it. Bought a year's service and minutes just, like, 10 days ago. Cost me about 100 bucks. Down the drain. Bastards.

You could do what the cop did and tell me that it was brave, but also stupid? (To give him credit, he phrased it much more nicely than that.)

I'm sorry to hear about that. I'm glad you didn't get hurt badly. And that you gave the fuckers hell. What kind of men...?
Geez. Anyway, I'm glad to see that you're fine.

Wow! So glad you didn't get hurt and I agree with the cop - that was brave, but stupid. All the experts tell us not to fight, just give them what they want and they usually won't hurt us, but I also know that it is totally natural to fight and I would too. Take care of yourself, after all I only have two neices and you guys are irreplacable.

PS - and I was concerned about you possibly being in fire range, never thought about normal crime!

You should totaly have posted the story you gave me. In fact, when I get back to Dabney tonight, I'll post it here. You're a rock star.

I guess we should call mom & dad, and the other aunts...

Exactly what happened.

22:34] DecepticonAF: Well, I was rounding the corner from Del Mar to Meridith, when these two black guys blocked me off (So tell Alemi that's a "no.") and demanding that I give them my purse. I said, "No." So one of them grabbed it and I pulled back, and then he pulled out what honestly might have been a gun (but it was so teeny!) and said, "I've got a gun!" so I held that arm pointed away from me, thank you very much, and kicked him square in the gut, but they kept pulling and I kept pulling back and I suppose it goes without saying that they were stronger, so I fell down into the street and scratched my elbow up a bit and they ran away, and then the guy in the house next to the corner came out and called the cops for me. And now I don't have my purse or anything that was in my purse. :/ Sons of bitches.
...
[22:36] Empress Ordinary: I'm pretty impressed.
[22:37] DecepticonAF: I am, too. I stayed calm all through the police stuff, too. I kinda figured I be reduced to hysterics or something, but I didn't even cry or anything.
...
[22:44] DecepticonAF: I think it might be troublesome that I find the inconvenienence caused by the loss of all the stuff in my purse more of a bother than the actual mugging. :/
...
[23:55] Empress Ordinary: You still okay? Not hysterical or freaking out?
[23:56] DecepticonAF: I actually feel kind of happy-ish. Like, proud of myself.

It's good to hear that you are (mostly) unharmed. I don't imagine I'd do so well in that kind of situation.

I do agree with the "brave but stupid" sentiment. Even if it was a gun, there's a strong chance it wasn't loaded and they weren't planning to use it as anything other than to scare you...but still. You could have been hurt.

Very glad to hear you're all right, though! Can't say I know what it's like...but I offer my condolences? That sounds like someone died. You know what I mean.

Brave and Stupid.

I'm a 32 year old dude, and I would totally have cried.

I'm sorry, I would'be frozen; peed my pants; and then cried.

Glad your okay. Try to stay that way, alright?
