Proud Carter Tradition

One day ridiculous things being done with Jonar thanks to conversations I've had will stop.

Today? Not that day. (Thanks, Sneeze!)

Tomorrow? Not looking too good, either.

Someday? I actually will draw him break-dancing.

In other news...

Modifying Pokemon sprites for my own amusement is not a productive use of my time hella fun.

Note to self (feel free to ignore this, people who are not me): Remember to comment on this post at some point. You want to encourage people being all meta about Booster, right? So put your money where your mouth is and comment.
Proud Carter Tradition

Oh, crap, attack of the memes!

As close to substantial as this journal ever gets:

We watched the BBC Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy at work today because there was nothing else to do. It was totally sweet. One of these days I'm going to get a real job and it'll suck.

I'm having a lot of trouble deciding if this is the absolute worst thing ever or the best. OMG so wrong.

I've been on an icon-making spree. The 1:1 ratio of icons with Booster in them to icons without him has not yet been reached, but it is approaching. Mostly because I've been making these icons out of the Adventures of Booster and Cass and similar doodles, and Booster is naturally heavily featured in them. Oh, and speaking of! Art! Because I do occasionally like to live up to this journal's name!

Meme-garbage!:

1. Grab the nearest book.
2. Open the book to page 123.
3. Find the fifth sentence.
4. Post the text of the next 4 sentences on your LJ along with these instructions.
5. Don't you dare dig for that "cool" or "intellectual" book in your closet! I know you were thinking about it! Just pick up whatever is closest.

Nearest book is Blue Beetle: Road Trip. (I was surprised the meme actually worked, honestly.)

"I know it hurts. ... Lonar says she's okay. He says to let go." (Shut up, those ellipses totally count as a sentence.)

Designated Blue And Gold Icon

Definitely glad I went to work today, since I wouldn't've heard this song otherwise.

Listen to this song. (Alternatively, read the lyrics, or, hell, even just read the first two paragraphs of the Lyrics section of the Wikipedia article.)

Now, I don't usually approve of sticking songs and fandoms together, but I'm not the only person reminded of a certain spandexed pair by this song, am I?

A/N: Booster Gold #1 gave Booster an official birthdate, so, of course, I had to write something for it. Specifically, Booster's first birthday with the League. Coincidentally his first birthday after his sister died, too. Aheh. (Just be glad I didn't write about the birthday he inevitably had to have had during 52, I guess. That would be worse.)

Pretend that this title somehow encompasses all included topics

I've got a new relative! Exciting! *Throws confetti*

Novelty DVD rewinder. Hilarious, y/y?

Booster Gold #3 was <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3. True Fact. I quite possibly love this spread so much it hurts. Johns and Katz know just how to push all my little, fangirly buttons. :3 I'm not sure I believe this book could be any better. Well, if they rez Shel, probably, but I'm kind of operating under the assumption that they will do that at earliest convenience, anyway. I can't imagine why they wouldn't.

dcdailylife is cooler than one might automatically assume by its concept. Thought I'd pass the info along.

I'm getting kind of strangely addicted to Solitaire, yet I haven't felt the need to play WoW in a while. For some strange reason, I'm starting to get the sneaking suspicion that I may just, quite possibly, be a little bit on the weird side. Unthinkable, I know!

I'm working on my Christmas list, honest!

Grandma getting David, my 10-soon-to-be-11, socially retarded little brother, the Transformers movie (and I can only assume she means the one from this past summer and not the one from ~20 years ago) is a horrible, horrible idea, agreed? I mean, have the rest of you relative people even seen that movie? It earned its PG-13 rating, kthnx. Mom even asked me after I saw it if I thought it would be a good movie for David to see, and I told her no, I did not, and I stand by that decision. Not that I think it's a bad movie or something, no, but I don't think it's something David should be watching. ...Granted, it's probably cleaner than the flash movies and crap he's always watching, anyway, but, well, I don't think he should be watching those, either. Hrmph.

I seem to have neglected to mention that Collapse )

ETA: How did I not know that there is a Wikipeida in Latin (charmingly named Vicipaedia)? Why did no one tell me of this wonderous wonder?!

Random Update Fannish Post of DOOM

So, it's kind of been a while, huh? Heh. Whoops. Internet's been less than reliable at this new place, you see. And there hadn't been much to talk about before then. But I've suddenly had a really busy week.

For instance, Booster Gold #2 came out on Wednesday! \o/ It was great, of course. Not quite as super-dee-dooper awesome as the first issue, but considering how very super-dee-dooper the first issue was, I don't think I'll count it as a strike against it. Booster and Guy are both full of the woobie. And the teases about Booster's dad are going to drive me insane, I'm sure of it. Want info now! Lordy, I don't think I would've survived reading Booster's original series as a monthly. Putting off the origin story until the 6th issue? Madness! :O Spoiled by reading the entire thing in one afternoon? Me? Probably!

Bamboo yarn is unbelievably amazing. Joy told me that is was amazingly soft and wonderful and demanded that everyone at Superdickery go to their local Michael's to feel the bamboo yarn up, and I did honestly believe her, so I went to Michael's and I saw a knitted swatch of the bamboo and was all "Oh. Joy says I should feel this because it's amazing. *Feels* Oh my God!" because it is just. That. Amazing. I bought three little skeins and made a scarf. Wheeeeeee.

And my Booster Gold action figure finally arrived! \o/ I ordered him and Supernova, what? Early June or July? One of those J-months. But I do recall promising pictures of an EPIC BATTLE with Unicron, and I do occasionally manage to deliver on my promises!

And there's this meme doing the rounds that I did with some somewhat interesting results, if I do say so, myself.

*Cracks fingers* I've never really done one of these before, so let's see how this goes. I've decided to stick to DC comics here and even made a gender-balanced list! Amazing!

First, select your ten fictional characters by whichever method you like best. Then answer the questions below.

1. Beatriz "Bea" DaCosta (AKA Fire)
2. Guy Gardner (A Green Lantern AKA Warrior)
3. Theodore "Ted" Kord (AKA Blue Beetle II)
4. Jaime Reyes (AKA Blue Beetle III)
5. Michael "Booster" Carter (AKA Booster Gold AKA Supernova)
6. Bruce Wayne (AKA Batman)
7. Diana Prince (AKA Wonder Woman)
8. Tora Olafsdotter (AKA Ice Maiden II AKA Ice)
9. Stephanie "Steph" Brown (AKA Spoiler AKA Robin IV)
10. Michelle "Shel" Carter (AKA Goldstar II)

Y'know what? I really ought to get myself an Official Icon of Fannish Glee. This is a horrible deficit I have here. Of course, that means I'd have to figure out what to use for it, and oh, there are so many things that fill me with fannish glee....
